I’ve been trying for ages to get credit in some form or fashion. Apparently, not having debt is a bad thing when it comes to financing anything. I guess the credit bureau just thought that since I had no debt, but a college degree, that I’d never bought anything before? I don’t know. The deal is that without credit, you can’t get credit, meaning no financing options for Robin in the way of buying a house, buying furniture, even getting a credit card. It’s quite the catch 22. Obviously, I’ve been a bit perturbed about the situation. BUT, I put my name on Steven’s old credit card last month, basically co-signing on a card, because that’s one of the only options I had for building credit. One month later, I was FINALLY approved for a credit card….which means I will finally be approved for buying furniture!! Now, before I get lectured about credit card debt, please remember that I’ve never had debt, thankfully. And I understand budgeting, I’m not going to go nuts and buy things that are out of my means or max out my new card…I’ve got this. I’m just glad to be on the credit radar…sheesh did it take long enough.
On another note, it would seem that after such a long snow hiatus, we will be returning to school tomorrow. Two hours late, woo! It will be nice to get back into the swing of things, even though we’re supposed to get a “wintery mix” on Monday morning. We’ve yet to go for a full week since the beginning of this semester!
Have a watch of this, it made me happy. Amy Vickers told me about it. I love when people will join together just to make something fun. And who doesn’t love Oprah?
